Hunger games how does katniss die

Katniss believes Snow once she is part of a meeting with other past victors, where Coin decides to assume the presidency and takes a symbolic Hunger Games with Capitol children to a vote. Realizing that Coin is no different than Snow was, Katniss agrees to the Hunger Games as long as she gets to execute Snow at the ceremony. During the public execution Coin makes a speech, announcing:.

The ending shows that the abuse of power is not contained to one person, but often the systems that give them unfair power. During their face-off against some mutated lizard-humans, he gives them a clearing to escape, but is not able to make it out himself.

Boggs also dies on the way to Snow when he accidentally triggers a mine pod and the squad must leave him. And of course both President Snow and Coin die, leaving the position to President Paylor, the rebel leader of District 8. Annie returns to District 4 and gives birth to their son and keeps in touch with Katniss.

District 7 hothead, Johanna Mason also survives and presumably returns home along with other surviving rebels such as Beetee. Plutarch Heavensbee is appointed as the Secretary of Communications and Effie and Haymitch thankfully remain alive as well and promise to keep in touch, with Haymitch returning to District 12 with Katniss and Peeta to raise geese.

Katniss returns to reunite with Peeta, who is starting to recover from his Capitol torture. Peeta has been asking Katniss what is real and what is not to uncloud his head from the manipulation he faced at the hands of Snow. He asks her if her love for him is real or not, to which she confirms her genuine love for him. The movie ends with the couple a few years into the future with two young kids living a peaceful life in a meadow. Prim, the sister Katniss sacrificed herself to protect when she first volunteered to participate in the Games, dies in the final battle against the Capitol in Mockingjay, Part 2.

Over the course of the revolution, Prim became a healer, like her mother, and insisted on entering the field during the final battle. Beside above, how does prim die in the hunger games?

Prim dies when District 13 drops bombs on children of the Capitol but she didn't know so when the first round of bombs went off her and a group of other rebel first-aiders rushed in to save the injured children.

As a result of this they are killed by the 2nd round of bombs. Her husband died in a coal mining accident five years before the events of The Hunger Games book. She also has two grandchildren, an elder girl and younger boy, from Katniss and Peeta. Primrose died in Mockingjay, leaving Mrs. Everdeen unable to go back to District 12 due to the pain of her death.

Not only was Prim the reason why Katniss volunteered for the Hunger Games but most importantly Prim died due to Gale's war strategy that Coin used to manipulate Katniss. The confusion of the end of the war manipulated the Capitol people to think that Snow ordered it. And while Katniss was far enough from the bombs, and close enough to medical care, that she makes it through the violence, her sister Prim was not.

As in the book, the film Mockingjay, Part 2 does not actually show Prim's horrific death. The bombs explode and the scene cuts away, leaving us to wonder what's happened.

During the bloodbath surrounding the Cornucopia, Katniss hit Gloss with an arrow in his calf. He survived and killed Katniss' ally, Wiress, by slitting her throat while she was on the beach. Katniss witnessed the event and quickly shot him in the chest with an arrow. He died almost instantly, and his sister, Cashmere, was the next victim in the Games. Her first propaganda footage was filmed when she and her team visited a hospital in District 8. When President Snow saw the footage, he ordered an airstrike on the specific district.

The ambush specifically targeted the hospital, killing every citizen inside. Katniss and Gale fought back, successfully shooting down bombers inside two Capitol hovercrafts that carried out the attacks. The event was also filmed, which featured Katniss proclaiming, " If we burn, you burn with us. The Capitol's defenses were primarily made up of Peacekeepers. As the rebel squad pushed on, Katniss killed some of the Peacekeepers as the fighting raged on.

Some of the Capitol civilians fell victim for being stuck in the middle of the conflict. In some instances, Capitol citizens joined in on the battle. At one point, Katniss had no choice but to shoot a Capitol woman with an arrow during the assault.

She made sure to keep Snow alive so that Katniss could personally execute him. Before that could happen, he told her that the bombing that killed innocent civilians, including her sister Prim, was ordered by Coin. To make matters worse, Coin planned to have one final Hunger Games event with Capitol children. It also illustrates that Katniss allowed herself to die metaphorically for a little while during her mourning of Prim, but now she is resurfacing and returning to life.

She begins a book, filling the pages with memories of those she loved and lost. Others add their memories and make more contributions. Finally, in this chapter, the ashes become a source of richness, fertilizing the soil and helping vegetation to reemerge. The Meadow turns green again, indicating that as District 12 continues to heal, so too does Katniss. She grows closer with Peeta and comes to realize fully that he is the one whom she loves; essentially he is what drives her toward her rebirth.

In the end, both Peeta and Katniss are certain of what is real: their love. Previous Chapter Next Chapter Removing book from your Reading List will also remove any bookmarked pages associated with this title.
